Terms of use

Last updated: October 11, 2026

These terms govern your use of Memouring, provided by [Razão social — a definir / Company name — TBD] ([CNPJ — a definir / TBD]), [Endereço — a definir / Address — TBD] ("Memouring", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them and to our privacy policy.

1. The service

Memouring lets you record your family's history — a family tree, people, memories, a diary, photos, documents and the Family Book — and build it together with the relatives you invite.

During the beta, access may require an invitation code, and features may change, be limited or be removed. We'll give you notice when a change affects content you've stored.

2. Your account

3. Your content

What you put in Memouring stays yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, process and display it only to provide the service: for example, to show it to the people you invited, to build your Family Book, or to read a tree from a photo you uploaded. That permission ends when the content is deleted, except for what the law requires us to keep.

You confirm that you have the right to upload what you send, including other people's photos, documents and writing.

Information about relatives. Trees contain information about people who don't use Memouring. When you add them, you agree to share only what is appropriate for recording your family's history, to take particular care with information about children, and to honor reasonable requests to correct or remove it. See the privacy policy.

Keep your own copies of anything important. You can export your data and your trees (GEDCOM) at any time from Settings.

4. Shared trees

Whoever creates a tree owns it and decides who is invited and with what role. Content you add to someone else's tree becomes part of that tree and stays visible to the people who can see it, including after you leave the tree or delete your account.

5. AI features

Tree extraction uses a third-party AI provider to read the names and relationships in a photo, scan or PDF. The result can contain mistakes: review everything before you confirm it. Nothing is added to your tree until you review it. Usage limits (such as extractions per day, pages and file size) are shown in the app.

The same goes for written versions of voice notes. When the person recording ticks "Create a written version with AI", OpenAI writes down the recording and, for advice, a short guide to it. They can contain mistakes, and the author can edit them.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Memouring to:

Be respectful in the advice forum. We may remove content that breaks these terms, and you can report inappropriate content to [e-mail de contato — a definir / contact email — TBD].

Copyright complaints

If you believe something on Memouring infringes your copyright, write to our designated copyright agent: [Razão social — a definir / Company name — TBD], [Endereço — a definir / Address — TBD], [e-mail de contato — a definir / contact email — TBD]. Your notice must include:

We'll remove the content or block access to it, and tell the person who posted it. If they believe it was removed by mistake, they can send us a counter-notice as the law allows (in the US, 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)), and we may put it back unless the complainant tells us they have gone to court. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe other people's copyright.

7. Plans and payment

The Free plan costs nothing and has limits (such as the number of trees and people), shown in the app. Pro is a monthly subscription billed through Stripe.

8. Suspension and termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or to protect other people or the service. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.

If we decide to shut Memouring down, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice to export your content.

9. Our property

Memouring's software, brand, design and text (other than your content) belong to us or our licensors. These terms don't transfer any of those rights to you.

10. Disclaimers

We work to keep Memouring available and your content safe, but the service may have interruptions and errors, especially during the beta. TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, MEMOURING IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ABOUT THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND US$100.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these exclusions or limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived by contract, including the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code if you live in Brazil.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll let you know by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

13. Governing law

If the country of residence in your account is Brazil, these terms are governed by Brazilian law and disputes go to the courts where you live; see the Portuguese version. For any other country, these terms are governed by the laws of [State — TBD] and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
